5. WAIT. Poem based on Chinese Book of Changes: I Ching

The fifth bar code will show
the gathering clouds above
and Heaven's influence below.
We must wait and take it slow
for rain that refreshes all that grow.

The clouds rise in Heaven... Gathering force.
When clouds rise there's no need for remorse.
"Going ahead blindly", one must not endorse.
One should take nourishment, gathering force
(remaining joyous and of good cheer of course).

The clouds are a sign that rain will come.
There's nothing to do but wait. It will come.
It's the same in life, work, and even boredom:
One should not be worried or seek martyrdom
or, before the time is ripe, be meddlesome.

Quietly fortify the body with food and drink,
and the mind with joy, taking time to think.
Fate comes when it will (faster'n you think).

Impatience is weakness in the face of danger.
One must have the inner strength to endure
if only to stand firm and true with motives pure.
Holding back uncompromisingly is the cure
for the right opportunity... (and you're sure).

In patient preparation can ways be opted.
When we have the courage to accept
things as they are we can adapt
without illusions and self-deceit.
In patient preparation... we must be adept.

If you truly are sincere
and continue to persevere
you have nothing to fear.
For certain... All is clear
and good is fortune near.

So waiting is not mere empty hoping
for things must grow before harvesting.
Certainty lights the path one is traveling
leading to the perseverance that will bring
fortune and power to do the right thing.

5. WAIT: THE LINES...

NINE AT THE BEGINNING:
Conditions are still familiar
as the danger is not yet near.
One must still lead a regular
life, as long as the way is clear,
to prevent exhaustion premature.
Hold fast to values that endure.
Keep free from blame and error
(It could cause weakness later).

NINE IN SECOND PLACE:
A sandy bank of of a river
can slide into the water: danger.
Arguments and strife engender
as we lay blame on each other.
We can stop bickering & slander
if we don't feed it with anger.
Being calm will get us further.

NINE IN THE THIRD PLACE:
Wading in mud and water,
lacking the power to cross over,
can only get one in deeper.
Take advantage is the enemy's nature.
Only hope is to be wary and sober.

SIX IN FOURTH PLACE:
Not going back or straight
as if one is trapped in a pit...
The only way to get out of it is
is to simply stand fast and take it
so as not to aggravate it.

9 IN 5TH PLACE:
In dire times there is interval
when things go relatively well.
If we have enough inner gall
we can advantage the interval
to prepare for a new struggle
without distraction from goal.

6 AT THE TOP:
If you are trapped accept danger.
Treat the unexpected with honor
and you may escape the danger.
