58. ENCOURAGEMENT
True grace rests on inner strengths example
where it manifests itself as yielding & gentle.

Firmless grace is just so much silliness.
Infectious true grace attracts more success.

Truth, and strength, must dwell in the heart
with gentleness made manifest from the start.

This is the way one assumes proper aligning
with God & humans... achieving something.

Force or intimidation may sometimes secure
momentary success but it cannot endure.

When hearts are won by warm friendliness
they will endure hardships with willingness.

As lakes... joined together... the gracious
join with friends for discourse and practice.

If a lake empties faster than it can fill up
it will inevitably exhaust itself and dry up.

When 2, or more, lakes are joined together
they may be able to replenish each other.

The same applies when it comes to educating:
Learning should be refreshing & revitalizing.

This comes through stimulating conversations
with congenial and sympathetic companions.

This is how learning becomes well rounded,
uplifting, and not tediously one-sided.

58. ENCOURAGEMENT: THE LINES
NINE AT BOTTOM:
The joy of contentment brings good fortune.

NINE IN 2ND PLACE:
True joy! Good luck. Guilt will disappear.
We're often found hanging with the inferior
in whose circle we're tempted by pleasure
only to be served a big helping of disaster.
The superior disinclines the will to wander
and the threat of regret is removed forever.

SIX  IN 3RD PLACE:
Here one is world-given  (empty within).
From without idle wants come streaming in.
Those lacking stability covet diversion
and often find opportunity for indulging
by trying to fill their "Emptiness of Being"...
Losing themselves  (which is not amusing)...
As true joy can only come from within.
Frivolous joy only invites misfortune.

NINE IN 4TH PLACE:
Without any discriminating endeavor
of high or low (lacking inner order)
one often finds oneself a chooser
between various kinds of pleasure.
It is only when one recognizes clear
that pleasure may cause one to suffer.
One can spurn self seeking pleasure
and strive for that which is higher.
Once one has crossed this water
one finds ones true inner core.

NINE IN 5TH PLACE:
Have nothing to do with them!
Their influence will bring mayhem.

SIX AT THE TOP:
Seek not a "Telling of Fortune".
Surrender not your self direction.
Depend not on external condition.
A vain nature invites such diversion
and must suffer the resulting condition
leaving one with an unstable constitution.
Worldly pleasures are mere distraction.
