A dam built in the narrow valley stops
the water until it rises to the tops.
Taking so much Water until it overflows
as with information, monetary & energy flows.
Limitations can bring resentful trouble
but they can also be molding and useful.
A free spirit is limited by boundary
such as the tolerance of society.
If we are economical in good times
we are prepared for the bad times.
If frugality is generally practiced
good times can actually be extended.
In the context of "fixed limitation"
the superior one may limit one's action.
Limits are indispensable in regulation.
Efficiency spares us from humiliation.
Remaining oblivious to that fact we will
suffer loss of freedom, property & self will.
One takes measure and examines nature
of virtue and correct behavior.
In limiting we must take great care
not to be too irritating or overbear.
Hampering growth foments rebellion.
We may need to set limits on limitation.
Not too committed nor too disregarding:
Galling limits must not be persevering.
The idea of 'unlimited possibility'
is enticing but not a practicality.
Those who reach out to take control
may stand to lose it all.

9 AT THE BOTTOM:
Someone who is stirred to action
finds insurmountable limitation.
One must be of right comprehension
and not go beyond the limitation
and know where to end the action.
In not going out of one's mansion
one gains the energy to enable one
when proper time has come
with discretion in preparation,
to act with great momentum.

Opportunity and potential are on their way.
If you hesitate when time gives you the OK
you'll end up missing your chance entirely.
SIX IN THIRD PLACE MEANS:
Don't blame others in abdication.
One who knows no limitation
will have cause for lamentation
for errors of one's own creation.
SIX IN FOURTH PLACE:
Allow your limitations
to be your natural extensions.
Adapt to these fixed conditions.
Avoid "principled" contention.
Deal with immediate situation
and you'll find good fortune.
NINE AT FIFTH PLACE MEANS:
To influence others you must be an example.
When limits and restrictions seem essential:
Try them on yourself to see if practical.
