62. SUCCESS

The weak  outer Yin lines refines
& gestates the strong inner lines.

This bears the representation
of two trees joined at midsection.

While leaves receive heaven's light.
roots suckle the earth. Holding tight.

In winter, when the leaves are not
present, there grows unseen root.

This growth activity is in order
to strengthen the root and prepare.

Hence, it's better to grow new roots
than venture to send out new shoots.

Without preparation new growing
would rapidly exhaust in striving.

So don't strive upward in importunity
but remain content with the lowly.

The superior is simple and reverent.
The superior lives in contentment.

Even if appearing a tedious pedant:
Care and rootedness is precedent.

Avoiding conspicuous consumption
promotes good fortune's assumption.

An unusual situation is indicate.
You're not so tough...  Compensate.

Be content with small things
rather than attempt great things.

62. SUCCESS: THE LINES

SIX AT THE BOTTOM MEANS:
The bird aught to remain in it's nest.
but if it tries to fly before the time is best...
It may well invite misfortunes' worst
(Exhausted before it is at its' best).

SIX IN SECOND PLACE MEANS:
One who has been in compliance
with regulations seeks an audience.
One is not successful... Perchance...
One does not resort to force
but goes about being conscientious
(Fulfilling ones duty in obedience).

9 IN 3RD PLACE: If one is not careful
something comes from behind and is hurtful.

Caution is absolutely necessary
when we are in times extraordinary.

Here we still find strong and upright
persons who should know what is right.

Some will disdain in keeping their guard
copping, "It simply isn't avant-gard".

They just go on... Proud and unconcerned.
With this false security they'll get burned.

Dangers await those who are unprepared.
Yet there is a chance that one can be spared.

NINE IN FOURTH PLACE:
A firm character is tempered by yielding
so that no mistakes are in the making.

 SIX IN FIFTH PLACE:
You are equal to your desire
but your position is not proper.
You will need help from someone other
to modestly reach what you aspire.

SIX AT THE TOP:
In overshooting a target
one may fail to hit it.
A bird forsakes its nest
only to fly with the rest.
Not knowing when to quit
it gets caught in a hunters' net.
Deviating from God and nature
assures one an unlucky future.
