47. BURNOUT

THE IMAGE:
Exhaustion... There is no water in the lake.
The superior one puts one's life at stake
under ones' own free will for Heavens' sake.

COMMENTARY:
Here, strong lines, the weak contain
where Lake is exhausted in hostile terrain.
The ground's too hard to absorb rain.

The superior one thirsts without gain
restricted by those of inferior vein.
The Great One is repressed: Under restrain.

Heaven withholds its nourishing rain.
One sings the blues but it's in vain.
No one has ears to hear one complain.

THE JUDGMENT:
Success... Through persevering campaign.
The Great One speaks... Inferiors disdain.
A Chance to inspire... Others constrain.
Words have no effect so wisely refrain
so that your strength, and sanity, sustain.

If adversity bends one against the grain
one has ability to spring back again.
This no inferior person can attain.
For those who let their spirit be slain,
by exhaustion, success is not certain.

The great bring opportunity to rein.
In spite of danger one should retain
an attitude of geniality and refrain
for A rosy outlook is your rival's bane.
It is more penetrating than rain.

"My God.
My God.
Why have you
foraken me?" -Matt.27:46

47. EXHAUSTION: THE LINES

SIX AT THE BOTTOM:
Falling into a trap of your own creation
Dissolution patterns failure's continuation.

NINE IN THE SECOND PLACE:
This pictures a state of deep oppression.
Outwardly all's well as far as nutrition
but one is exhausted by inner tension.
There appears to be no way for resolution.
But then help comes from a high station.
But still one must overcome obstruction
in unseen realm by prayer and oblation.
Do not proceed without preparation
even though one is in the right position.
Fortunately this disagreeable situation
is overcome by patience and meditation.

SIX IN THIRD PLACE MEANS:
You allow yourself to become depressive
over things that aren't that oppressive.
In putting faith in things not supportive
you are unable to see your prerogative.

NINE IN FOURTH PLACE:
Restrained in a golden livery...
In a lower class that is needy...
One wants to be viewed as "handy"...
One is noted by one that is wealthy.

Instead of advancing with energy...
One hesitates... contemplatively...
Tempered by the powerful & wealthy
who draw one into their company.

One complies and can't get away.
But the problem is transitory.
By strength of one's personality
one achieves one's destiny.

NINE IN FIFTH PLACE:
There's a lack of information in your corner.
Bureaucracy is in the way of going further.
Those in need of assistance can only flounder.
All you can do is maintain your composure
until things take a turn for the better.

SIX AT THE TOP MEANS:
Influence of a prior condition
causes fear and apprehension
that one will regret any action.
One's movements are uncertain
as if entangled in creeping vine.
Oppressing bonds can be broken
as one grasps the situation.
In changing mental disposition
and making a firm decision
one masters ones' oppression.
